I always love to revisit kitchen ingredients for my skincare. Enter raw honey from a local apiary — honey that’s unprocessed and straight from the hive. Rich in antioxidants and phytonutrients, raw honey exhibits antibacterial and antifungal properties, helps heal acne, and can even help with hyperpigmentation.
When I first started using honey on my skin, I was skeptical that this sticky stuff would exacerbate my acne. Boy, was I wrong. When mixed with a little bit of turmeric, this mask works wonders. I’m vowing to be consistent with masking this month, hoping that it will help fade my acne scars. We’ll see!
I will say that I keep this out of my hair because honey contains trace amounts of hydrogen peroxide that bleaches hair.
